South Jersey Woman Charged In Fatal Crash

A 34-year-old South Jersey woman has been charged with vehicular homicide in connection with a fatal crash, authorities said.

Bao “Joanna” Huynh of Brigantine was additionally charged with reckless and careless driving in the death of Hector Salgado, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

On June 26, 2021, at 12:17 p.m., Salgado, 54, was killed on Brigantine Blvd. in Brigantine when a van he was loading was struck by a Honda Civic, driven by Huynh, the prosecutor's office said.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the defendant’s use of numerous drugs caused a state of intoxication and impaired her ability to operate a motor vehicle, they said.

This fatal crash investigation was a cooperative effort by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit and Brigantine Police Department.
